“The X-rays were negative, so that’s good,” Celtics forward Jaylen Brown relayed to reporters after the 22-year-old experienced a scary fall against the Dallas Mavericks Saturday night at American Airlines Center.
With the Celtics trailing 111-97 in the fourth quarter, Brown jumped up and twisted his body in an effort to swat a layup from Mavericks forward Maxi Kleber. He landed hard on his tailbone, visited the locker room, and did not return to the floor.
“I’m hanging in there,” he said after the game.
Brown said he didn’t watch the fall and couldn’t remember what exactly had happened, though the training staff told him he would “alright.
