There were many memorable moments during the NBA’s All-Star Sunday night, and perhaps none more bizarre than the decision to stop the championship round of the mini-tournament and give TNT’s “Inside the NBA” Crew their “flowers” before the show switches over to ESPN next season.
Jayson Tatum was spearheading an 11-1 opening run for eventual champion Shaq’s OG’s when the game was brought to a halt. The “Inside” crew received numerous gifts, including signed jerseys from all the players and fishing gear, which was a nod to the popular “Gone Fishin'” segment from the show.
It was a long and awkwardly-placed goodbye to a legendary show that isn’t going off the air, but merely switching networks, it was announced in November.
