Jaylen Brown ruled out for Thursday’s Pistons game

The Celtics will be without Jaylen Brown tonight as they face the Detroit Pistons in their first home game since December 17. He was initially listed as questionable on yesterday’s injury report but was downgraded to out this morning with a lower back contusion.

With the Pistons fresh off of setting the NBA record for most consecutive losses in a single season, a cautious approach makes sense for Brown’s long-term outlook. This will give him an extra day to recover for tomorrow’s second-night-of-a-back-to-back against the Toronto Raptors.

Every other Celtic will play tonight, including Jayson Tatum, who was initially listed as questionable with left ankle sprain management.
