Boston Celtics guard Jabari Bird was arraigned on Thursday for assaulting his girlfriend last Friday in Brighton, Mass.
Bird pleaded not guilty to charges of domestic assault, kidnapping, and strangulation. The 6-foot-6 shooting guard allegedly choked the victim until she lost consciousness. Bail was set at $100,000, half of which must be paid in cash, as reported by Tom Westerholm of MassLive.
Bird is accused of kicking her repeatedly in the stomach when she woke up.
