In a story first reported by the Herald last week, the Celtics will play Sacramento in Mexico City on Dec. 3 as part of the NBA Global Games 2015.
Though the event will mark the NBA's 22nd game in Mexico City Arena, it will be the Celtics' first game south of the border. The Celtics will be heavily involved in the league's international endeavors next season. They will also make exhibition appearances in Milan and Madrid on Oct. 6 and 8, respectively.
“The Boston Celtics are excited to bring our rich history and tradition to Mexico as part of NBA Global Games 2015," Celtics managing partner and co-owner Wyc Grousbeck said in a preparted statement.
