Isaiah Thomas is unlikely to have surgery on his right hip labrum tear this offseason and should be “ready to go,” for the upcoming season, coach Brad Stevens told reporters ahead of the Boston Celtics’ Utah Summer League opener Monday.

Thomas has been getting multiple opinions on his labrum tear throughout the offseason as he rehabs the injury, with the goal beign that the rehab would go well enough to avoid surgery. That appears to be the current path base don Stevens’ update.

Thomas will have a follow-up with his doctor in the next 7-10 days.

“Every indication is he feels good and will be ready to go,” Stevens said as relayed by Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe.
