History shows Dubs (14-0) far from lock

Winning isn’t necessarily all it’s cracked up to be — at least in regards to early season winning streaks translating to NBA championships.

When Golden State came back and beat the Clippers in Los Angeles Thursday night to go 13-0 (now 14-0 with another win Friday), the league’s stats department sent out a list of other teams that had won their first baker’s dozen. Included were the 1948-49 Washington Capitols, the 1957-58 Celtics, the 1993-94 Houston Rockets and 2002-03 Dallas Mavericks.

While the 2015-16 story of Stephen Curry and friends remains a mystery (Nostradamus offered a “no comment” when reached through a medium by the Herald), we know that just one of the previous four rabbit starts ended in a championship.
