Celtics fans will have to circle March 3 on their calendars — an unintentional 3/3 reference to Larry Bird — for when HBO’s new documentary series about the team premieres.
Titled “Celtics City,” the docu-series will explore the championship-laden history of Boston’s NBA team, its many stars, and its impact off the court. The first trailer dropped on Wednesday, teasing numerous subplots and interviews.
“Celtics City” was produced by former “Boston Sports Guy” and Ringer founder/CEO Bill Simmons, along with Connor Schell (the duo who originally produced ESPN’s noted “30 For 30” series).
