Today is former Boston Celtics small forward Scott Wedman's 65th birthday.
Wedman, who came into the league after an outstanding career at Colorado as the 6th pick of the 1974 NBA Draft, spent his early years playing for the Kansas City/Omaha Kings (now Sacramento) and Cleveland Cavaliers before being traded to the Celtics for Darren Tillis and cash early in 1983.
While primarily a bench player, he was a prototypical sixth-man, backing up Larry Bird and sometimes even Kevin McHale, and was known for catching fire in his own right from time to time.
