Minutes after tip-off of the Celtics’ home opener, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Gordon Hayward’s surgery had been scheduled for Wednesday night. Hayward spent Tuesday night at the New England Baptist Hospital in Mission Hill, after being transported from Cleveland.
Following the surgery, Hayward’s agent Mark Bartelstein told ESPN that the forward is “unlikely to return this season. Barstelstein — who previously had said tests revealed a “clean” break — added that they still expect the 27-year-old to make a full recovery and return to his All-Star form.”
