James Young's career with the Celtics didn't pan out quite as Boston had hoped it would when they selected him with the 17th overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft. Shooting woes, among other things, forced him to the back of Brad Stevens' bench and he wound up spending much of his three seasons with the Celtics playing for their G-League affiliate, the Maine Red Claws.
Young joined the New Orleans Pelicans summer league team in 2017 and was later signed to a training camp deal by the Milwaukee Bucks in September, but was waived the following month.
