Former Boston Celtics and Hall of Fame wing Frank Ramsey has passed away this week at the age of 86.
Ramsey, a key part of the Celtics early dominance, having won seven championships with the team between 1957 and 1964, passed away at his home in
Frank was an accomplished basketball player before he ever set foot on a court in a Boston uniform, his Kentucky squad going undefeated the year after he graduated and was drafted by the Cs with teammates Cliff Hagan and Lou Tsioropoulos (don't even try to wrap your head around the logistics involved there, in the early 1950s, college and pro basketball alike were still in their "wild west" era, and things were, shall we say, different).
