WALTHAM, Mass. – The odds of a Division I basketball player making the NBA are slim. The chances of a Division II player earning an NBA roster spot? That’s just about unheard of.
Kevin Capers of Florida Southern College is attempting to beat the odds and make the enormous leap, from a small D-II school with less than 2,500 enrollees, to the biggest basketball stage on Earth.
The 6-foot-2 guard took one colossal step toward achieving his goal when he worked out for the Boston Celtics Wednesday morning.
