Derrick White sunk his 185th 3-pointer Monday night, triggering a $500,000 contract bonus. The wide-open corner three, White’s first of the night, came during the first quarter of the Celtics’ 118-104 win over the Hornets.
The bump, which brings White’s total earnings to $18.5 million for the 2023-24 season, will cost the Celtics an additional $500,000 in luxury tax penalties, according to ESPN’s Bobby Marks. It’s likely that the bonus will be factored into White’s salary for the 2024-25 season, meaning the 29-year-old guard could earn up to $20.6 million.
White finished Monday’s game in Charlotte with 19 points, nine rebounds and five assists.
