Derrick White has a connection to Super Bowl LVIII, even if his home state’s Denver Broncos aren’t playing in it.
The Celtics guard grew up near Christian McCaffrey in Colorado, attending Legend High School in Parker while the NFL star attended Valor Christian High School a couple of towns over in Highlands Ranch.
Ahead of Sunday’s Super Bowl, White decided to show his support for McCaffrey. He wore the 49ers star running back’s high school jersey to Sunday’s Celtics-Heat game in Miami.
“Yeah, Colorado kid,” White told NBC Sports Boston’s Abby Chin when asked if he was rooting for the 49ers.
