MILAN — Take them with a grain of salt. These preseason games, especially overseas against a lesser opponent — in this case one that had just flown back from the States after having played Israel’s powerhouse Maccabi Tel Aviv twice in the span of four days — are never a good measuring stick.
But what the new-look Celtics showed in their Italian debut today — a 124-91 win over Olimpia Milano that topped the 30-point margin (105-75) against this same team three years ago — was definitely promising. Especially in regard to how they played together and how one of the newcomers, David Lee, already seems to be a great fit for this team.
