After the Celtics sent Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, and Ante Zizic to the Cavaliers in the package that brought Kyrie Irving to Boston, Danny Ainge was left with an open roster spot.
The Celtics have 14 guaranteed contracts on their roster, and the available free agents like Gerald Green, Andrew Bogut, and Thomas Robinson are signing deals with other teams each week. Ainge isn’t concerned with this however. He wants to give the current players a shot to prove themselves first.
Ainge: "You wouldn't believe how many phone calls I've gotten on that 15th roster spot.
