The Boston Celtics announced that center Daniel Theis will be out indefinitely with a slight plantar fascia tear in his right foot.
Theis was back in the Boston lineup to start this season, after his 2017-18 campaign was cut short after 63 games due to a torn meniscus in his left knee.
In five games, all off the Celtics bench, Theis is averaging six points and just over three rebounds in 12.2 minutes per game. His value as a reserve center was on the rise, as he took the place of the injured Aron Baynes over the last three games.
