Daniel Theis’ contract with the Boston Celtics is now fully guaranteed. Theis’ deal was fully non-guaranteed for 2018-19, had Boston waived him on 7/10/18. The Celtics chose to let that date pass without any news and will bring Theis back for $1,378,242, which is the equivalent of the one-year veteran minimum.
Boston originally signed the German native Theis in the summer of 2017 to a two-year contract via the Minimum Exception. With his 2018-19 contract now fully guaranteed, Theis will be a restricted free agent in the summer of 2019.
