Countdown to the draft: Shooting guards

The Celtics could use an upgrade at virtually every position but there is one skill in particular that they want to improve.

They need scoring, and especially shooting. They are in the process of evaluating a guard who may eventually become the best shooter on the team — 2014 first-rounder James Young. Starting “2-guard” Avery Bradley may be one of the best ball pressure defenders in the NBA, but he also shot 33.3 percent in four playoff games against Cleveland this year. He may never be a consistent shooter.

Celtics coach Brad Stevens has already put out the order — pace and space.
