All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving left the Celtics' game Saturday night against the LA Clippers in Boston with a right knee sprain and did not return.
The Celtics were in control of the game when Irving appeared to hurt his knee with about five minutes left in the second quarter while attempting to defend Garret Temple at the top of the key. The Clippers outscored the Celtics 75-44 from that point on, coming back from 28 points down to beat Boston 123-112.
It was the largest comeback in the NBA in the last two seasons and the largest in Clippers history.
