WALTHAM, Mass. – Coty Clarke stepped off the Westchester County Center court in high spirits Sunday night, having just led his Maine Red Claws to a 126-88 road win over the Westchester (N.Y.) Knicks. The 6-foot-7 forward tallied a game-high 22 points, to go along with seven rebounds, five assists and a pair of steals, en route to his D-League squad’s fourth straight victory.
Just when Clarke thought his night couldn’t get any better, his coaches pulled him aside and broke some exhilarating news.
Maine’s NBA affiliate, the Boston Celtics, had a void to fill on their 15-man roster – following the waiving of David Lee on Feb.
