Strus was recently a part of roster maneuvering when it became clear that Boston could not risk losing Tacko Fall. The Celtics converted Strus from his Two-Way contract to a partially guaranteed standard contract. Fall was then converted from his Exhibit 10 contract to a Two-Way contract.
Strus’ guarantee on his new contract was $415,000. That amount was roughly the equivalent of what Strus could have earned while on his Two-Way contract, had he spent the maximum 45 days in the NBA with the Celtics.
Because Strus’ guarantee was greater than $50,000 he will be ineligible to play for the Boston’s NBAGL affiliate - the Maine Red Claws.
