Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals went exactly as everyone expected, as the Celtics rolled to a wire-to-wire blowout victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers 108-83.
Wait…what?
While it may not have been expected, the Celtics did blow out the Cavaliers. Cleveland led 7-4, then Boston ripped off a 17-0 run, and the Cavs never threatened again. The Celtics were up 36-18 after one quarter and up 61-35 at the half.
Jaylen Brown got Boston started with 18 of his 23 points in the first half. Al Horford added 14 of 20 points before the break, while also pulling down four rebounds, handing out six assists and blocking two shots for the game.
