Boston Celtics star Kyrie Irving will miss his second straight game Wednesday against the Detroit Pistons because of a sprained right knee.
Irving suffered the injury this past weekend against the Clippers and has been listed as day to day. The All-Star point guard missed Tuesday's game against the 76ers, but Boston held on for a 112-109 victory.
The Celtics are 8-2 in games that Irving has missed this season, while going 28-19 in games that he has played. Boston could be severely short-handed at point guard against Detroit, as backup Terry Rozier has been listed as doubtful because of an illness.
