The Celtics have agreed to a two-way contract with guard Walt Lemon Jr., a league source confirmed on Monday.
Lemon, 25, averaged 22.4 points, 6.1 assists and 4.7 rebounds for the G-League’s Fort Wayne Mad Ants last season. He also played in five games with the New Orleans Pelicans, averaging 3.4 points per contest. Prior to last season, he had stints playing professionally in Hungary, Turkey, Germany and Greece.
Lemon, who played collegiately at Bradley, replaces two-way player Kadeem Allen, a 2017 second-round draft pick who was waived by the Celtics on Sunday.
Lemon will likely spend the majority of next season with the Celtics’ G-League affiliate, the Maine Red Claws.
