The Celtics agreed to trade the first pick in the 2017 NBA Draft to the Sixers for the third pick and another potential top five selection next year or in 2019. This changes everything we thought going into this year’s draft, as the Celtics will have a different pool of players to select from.
Danny Ainge must have not been sold on Markelle Fultz enough to change around his young back court, as well as turn down the opportunity to acquire valuable assets.
Boston may not even keep the picks they currently hold. They could very well use these extra selections to acquire a superstar level player to add to the current roster.
