SALT LAKE CITY — Brad Stevens admittedly hasn’t thought much about the significance of this year’s NBA All-Star Game and how it relates to Butler University.
But there is significance in the Celtics coach and his staff directing the Eastern Conference for the first time, while on the Western Conference side his most celebrated player at Butler, Utah’s Gordon Hayward, will also be making his first All-Star Game appearance.
“I haven’t thought about that, but I’m so happy for him,” Stevens said of Hayward.
Stevens, though, would rather see more of a Celtics representation on the players roster.
