MINNEAPOLIS — After expressing interest in hosting the 2022 NBA All-Star Game, the Celtics decided not to make a bid for the event. According to a source from one city involved in the bid process, the club was not among those filing a package to the league.
The Celtics last hosted the game in 1964, and has done so three other times, including the first two games in 1951 and ’52.
Since then, the event has turned into a weekend extravaganza, and co-owner Wyc Grousbeck told the Globe in December that the club was looking into a run for 2022.
