Marcus Smart’s postgame limp is the surest sign that the Celtics point guard still needs time for his sprained left big toe to heal.
But despite the obvious rust shown in last night’s return after a three-game absence, Smart has no intention of spending more time away from the team.
“It actually felt better than I expected out there today,” he said. “I just have to keep working with those guys and keep making progress.”
Smart finished with eight points on 1-for-6 shooting and four clumsy fouls during the Celtics’ 102-91 loss to Indiana.
