Celtics notebook: Marcus Morris inspires with second-half scoring surge

No one has signaled when Marcus Morris’ minutes restriction, not to mention his back-to-back games restriction, will end.

But based on the power forward’s performance in a season-high 27 minutes last night, that playing time may finally be ready to expand.

Morris, with six straight points during a game-turning third quarter run, and another seven over the first five minutes of the fourth, kept the Celtics afloat until Kyrie Irving and Jayson Tatum took charge down the stretch of a 108-97 win over Philadelphia.

Morris finished with 17 points on 6-for-11 shooting, and added five rebounds, three assists and a steal.
