After missing Thursday’s loss to Philadelphia with a sore shoulder, Kyrie Irving felt good enough to go through a full practice yesterday with the intention of returning to action today against Orlando at the Garden.
“I’m still going to need some work, but I’m just ready to go back out there and play,” he said yesterday after getting treatment. “I’m just glad I had a few days to kind of reset and do the things needed in order to put myself in a great position to go out there and play.”
Though the Celtics sometimes looked lost without their best offensive player Thursday night — they are 0-2 without Irving this season — a small consolation for Brad Stevens is his team’s lack of excuse-making.
