David Lee spent $100 on Powerball tickets last night in anticipation of hitting the estimated $500 million jackpot. The Celtics forward was only joking when he held up the tickets and said, “A DNP coach? You’ll never see me again.”
Then came the 31-year-old veteran’s second straight DNP in the Celtics’ 99-94 loss to the Detroit Pistons. It’s now a pattern, and one that Lee has told Brad Stevens he doesn’t like.
“Coach came to me and said we’re going to try and go small at the 4, which means Kelly (Olynyk) and Jonas (Jerebko),” Lee said.
