DETROIT — There’s a direct connection between Daniel Theis scoring a career-high 19 points and the return to rhythm by the Celtics wing players with last night’s 110-98 win against the Pistons.
The 25-year-old rookie lived in the paint, rolling to the rim all game on his way to 8-for-10 shooting, although he stepped outside long enough to hit two 3-pointers as well.
“It’s not just Marcus (Smart),” Theis said of the Celtics point guard, who returned from an 11-game injury-related absence last night. “Like, Terry (Rozier), Kyrie (Irving), they get so much attention in pick-and-rolls.
