Even without Jayson Tatum, the Celtics are continuing to make history.
The Celtics took care of business against the Pistons on Friday night, dispatching them 129-102 despite playing shorthanded. It marked another 25-point victory for the Celtics this season, giving them their 15th such victory of the year.
That tied an NBA record for the most 25-point wins in a season, according to NBC Sports Boston researcher Dick Lipe. Of course, the Celtics still have 12 games to go, so they still have some time to pass the 1970-71 and 1971-72 Bucks along with the 2015-16 Spurs (who they’re tied with for the record) as they’ve averaged a 25-point win roughly every five games.
