Celtics’ Marcus Smart out about two weeks with hand laceration

Celtics guard Marcus Smart has returned to Boston and is expected to be sidelined for about two weeks as he recovers from a hand laceration he suffered on Wednesday.

Smart said the injury occurred when he punched a picture frame. He received stitches and missed the game against the Clippers that night.

“I want to take this time to express my sincerest apologies to my teammates, coaches, and most of all the amazing Boston Celtics fans,’’ Smart said on Twitter on Friday. “I’m embarrassed and disappointed in my actions. I swiped at and hit a picture frame on the wall.
