The NBA Draft Lottery takes place Tuesday night and the Celtics will not be participating. What does that mean beyond the fact that the Celtics were good enough to avoid a trip to Times Square in the spring time?
It means that we won’t get another glimpse of co-owner Steve Pagliuca’s ceramic rooster, which he pack into a suitcase and brought with him to last year’s lottery for good luck. The figurine, a symbol of good luck in Portugal, was given to Pagliuca by Robert Sherman, the U.S. ambassador to that country.
SB Nation graded the rooster out at an A- on its report card for good luck charms last year (only the Sixers earned a straight A).
