DETROIT – Gordon Hayward has at least two weeks of further rehab work to do before he is allowed to travel with the team, according to Celtics coach Brad Stevens.
The coach said Friday night that the forward, who suffered a gruesome leg injury in October and is not expected by the team to return this season, still has more conditioning and strength training to do on an anti-gravity treadmill.
Though Stevens has often talked of Hayward eventually traveling with his teammates, it was more in the spirit of camaraderie than actually returning to action this season.
