Danny Ainge trotted out his usual list of pre-draft policies yesterday.
All members of the current roster are available for a draft-night trade. Expect something upwardly mobile to happen tomorrow night, since Ainge doesn’t want to actually have to draft four rookies. The Celtics don’t draft according to need. They take the best player available, even if he’s another point guard.
The Celtics president of basketball operations, though, admittedly is more active than usual, thanks to the fact he has more picks available for trade during the next four years than any other team. Those future first-rounders from Brooklyn might be his most valuable assets of all, now that the Celtics’ own picks have dipped to the middle of the pack.
