The Celtics, even at their offensive best, are as streaky as one of Bill Walton’s tie-died T-shirts.
But as one of the best escape ensembles in the NBA, they never seem to mind. That mindset, as well as the ability of the offense to ramp up down the stretch, pushed the Celtics to a 113-107 overtime win over Milwaukee in Game 1 of their first-round playoff series Sunday at the Garden.
Their early offensive troubles aside, five Celtics scored 19 or more points, including a 24-point, 12-rebound double-double from Al Horford and rookie Jayson Tatum’s 19-point, 10-rebound performance in his playoff debut.
