MILAN — Take them with a grain of salt. Preseason games, especially overseas against a lesser opponent — in this case one that just flew back from the U.S. after playing Israel’s powerhouse Maccabi Tel Aviv twice in the span of four days — never are a good measuring stick.
But what the new-look Celtics showed in their Italian debut last night — a 124-91 rout of Olimpia Milano — definitely was promising, especially in regard to how they played together and how one of the newcomers, David Lee, already seems to be a great fit.
“He thinks the game real well,” Celtics coach Brad Stevens said of the 6-foot-9 forward.
