The Celtics minus Jayson Tatum and Al Horford not only blew out the Kings in Sacramento Wednesday night, but for the first time since the 1986-87 season, five Boston players scored 25+ points in a game. The five players 37 years ago were the reigning NBA champion starting 5 of Dennis Johnson, Danny Ainge, Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, and Robert Parish. This time around it was starters Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, Jrue Holiday, and Kristaps Porzingis as well as back-up guard Payton Pritchard.
