WASHINGTON – The Washington Wizards have cast a losing spell upon their last 13 opponents who have come to the nation’s capital. Tonight, the Boston Celtics aim to avoid similar fate.
Washington, winner of 18 of its last 26 games overall after opening the season 6-12, has reeled off 13 straight wins in its home confines of the Verizon Center. No NBA team other than the Wizards has won in the building since Dec. 6, when Orlando exited town victorious.
“They’re playing really well at home,” Brad Stevens said ahead of Tuesday morning’s shootaround on the campus of Georgetown University.
