CLEVELAND — The Cavaliers say guard Iman Shumpert was arrested last month on suspicion for driving under the influence.
Shumpert was arrested on Aug. 10 in Fayette County, Georgia, following a traffic stop for a lane violation. The NBA champion Cavs said it has discussed the situation with Shumpert and "will monitor the progression of the pending case."
An incident report obtained by Cleveland.com says a deputy smelled an odor consistent with burned marijuana in Shumpert's vehicle, and the player admitted to smoking. The report says Shumpert struggled with a field sobriety test and declined a blood test.
