Good things happen to good teams.
That was Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James’ reaction to the Celtics acquiring the first overall pick in the upcoming NBA draft after the ping-pong balls fell in the lottery Tuesday night.
“It was just like, ‘Wow,’ and like, ‘OK,’ ” James said. “To be a very, very good team and get the No. 1 pick, man, they got the better side of that situation.”
The situation, of course, was the trade the Celtics made with Brooklyn in 2013 that sent away Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett as headliners in a package that netted them a satchel of first-round picks from the Nets.
