The Cleveland Cavaliers signed former Detroit Mercy forward and Truro, MA native, Nick Minnerath to compete for a roster spot in camp.
His deal with Cleveland is for one year and is non-guaranteed. He'll compete with Quinn Cook, Jared Cunningham and D.J. Stephens for one of the 14 spots on the Cavs roster.
Minnerath has a pretty remarkable story.
During his senior year in 2013, the the now 27 year old averaged 14.6 points and 5.9 rebounds a game.
He only played one year of high school basketball due to poor grades and injury.
