Danny Ainge continued to say the bold moves by Cleveland had no effect on the Celtics as Thursday’s NBA trade deadline closed in.
Repeating thoughts he shared with the Herald a day earlier, the president of basketball operations, addressing the media before last night’s game against Indiana, claimed he was unfazed by the Cavaliers remaking their roster by sending out six players and acquiring George Hill, Jordan Clarkson, Rodney Hood and Larry Nance Jr.
“No,” Ainge said when asked if the trades motivated him to look harder for Celtic help, “it didn’t really. We’d gotten a little bit of wind that they were making some big changes, without knowing the details of it, but, listen, we’ve got our own problems to worry about and we’re just taking care of the Boston Celtics.
