Only a few months after the Celtics made the dramatic decision to trade Marcus Smart, the former NBA Defensive Player of the Year could be on the move again.
According to Yahoo NBA reporter Jake Fischer, both the Bucks and Lakers have reached out to the Grizzlies — the team that acquired Smart from Boston in the 2023 blockbuster — about a possible trade. Fischer also noted that the list of potential suitors extends beyond Milwaukee and Los Angeles, but that Memphis is reportedly not interested at this point.
“The Grizzlies have shut down any overtures for the veteran guard, sources said,” wrote Fischer.
