Brian Scalabrine is tired of fans mistaking him for actor Michael Rapaport

There’s a double-edged sword to being both red-haired and outspoken. And it’s a lesson former Celtics player-turned-commentator Brian Scalabrine has apparently learned.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Scalabrine said he’s tired of being mistaken for actor Michael Rapaport.

“The problem is all the general fans think that I am [Rapoport],” he said, speaking at a three-on-three tournament in New York. “That’s the big issue for me. Like, there are levels to this red-headed game here, right?”

Scalabrine — who played 11 seasons in the NBA, averaging about three points per game — said there was no comparison between himself and Rapaport, who has played in at least five NBA All-Star Celebrity Games, when it came to the hardwood.
