Brad Stevens says Gordon Hayward twisted his right ankle in a workout

Celtics forward Gordon Hayward twisted his right ankle in a workout Tuesday, coach Brad Stevens said Wednesday on 98.5 The Sports Hub’s “Zolak & Bertrand.”

Stevens characterized the injury, which occurred while Hayward was playing one-on-one against teammate Semi Ojeleye, as “not a long-term thing.” Stevens expects Hayward to be questionable against the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday night for the team’s first game after the All-Star break.

“Hopefully, he’ll be available, but I don’t know that for sure,” Stevens said. “It’s not a huge issue by any means. We anticipate that he’ll be back within a short amount of time.
